"KAPPA V / M.S. 518 is a high performing 6-8 grade middle school. KAPPA is modeled after the acclaimed KIPP Academy in the Bronx. Candidates apply to enter our school and, through an interview process, this gives us the opportunity to accept solid students with college in their future. We foster a nurturing environment that supports, challenges, and raises the expectations for youth in Brooklyn. We have an accelerated learning program where our emphasis is placed on teamwork, cooperation, discipline, reading, writing, and mathematics. Students and staff must act with integrity at all times.
